How EdTA Membership Benefits You

Membership Benefits

The Educational Theatre Association (EdTA) offers memberships for educators at every stage of their careers — from the theatre education major just starting out to the most experienced theatre teacher.

Check out the exclusive benefits offered only to our professional, pre-professional, affiliate, and emeritus members:

Theatre Educator Pro

Find the tools you need for your classroom and your professional learning: Theatre Educator Pro raises the bar for theatre educator professional development by offering standards-based resources including webinars, curricula, assessment models, and more. Your annual dues cost less than purchasing three professional learning webinars as a non-member – it’s like getting all the other benefits for free!

Lesson Plan Library

With more than 300 lesson plans covering grades K-12 and all areas of theatre, from devising to dramaturgy, Theatre Educator Pro has you covered in the classroom. You can be sure you’re getting high-quality materials – EdTA has vetted every lesson plan to ensure educational rigor and alignment with the National Core Arts Standards. The Lesson Plan Library is available exclusively to EdTA members.

When you join EdTA, you join a family of theatre educators like you – teachers who get your struggles and triumphs; people you can lean on for advice, ideas, and support. EdTA offers many ways to make those connections, including regular virtual meetups, networking at in-person events, and participating in EdTA’s online Theatre Education Community.

Career Center

Access job listings, post your résumé, and look for qualified theatre education professionals in this online career database. Search the Career Center by job title, keyword, or location. Plus, members get one free job posting per year.

Mentor Match

EdTA’s mentoring program is a unique online networking and career development tool that helps members find, connect, and share experiences with others. Mentors and mentees can be in the same city or on the other side of the world.

Many EdTA chapters also offer a member price break for their local festivals and conferences. Event discounts are another way your membership pays for itself!

Royalty Adjustments

As a benefit of membership, the royalty reduction program assists troupe directors in applying for discounted rates on royalties for upcoming productions through cooperating play publishers.

And much more!
